The Deputy Inspector General Of Police Administration, Lahore Being The Principal Staff Officer Of Capital City Police Officer, Lahore, Is Responsible For The Management Of Financial, Human And Logistic Resources Of Lahore Police. He Conducts All Official Correspondence On Behalf Of Capital City Police Officer, Lahore. Personnel Management, Budgetary Controls, Development Plans And Procurement Are His Important Functions. SSP/Administration Is Also Responsible For The Assets Management Of Lahore Police, Supervision Of Construction, Maintenance Of All Police Buildings And Follow Up For New Schemes.
SSP Discipline & Inspection
The Senior Superintendent Of Police Discipline & Inspection (D&I), Lahore Is The Staff Officer Of CCPO Lahore. He Maintains Discipline Of Entire Police Force Of Lahore Comprising Of Operations, Investigations, Security And Traffic. He Conducts Inquiries Into The Complaints Of Corruption, Misconduct And Inefficiency Against Police Officials. In Addition To The Walk-In Complainants, He Conducts Enquiries Marked By CCPO Lahore; IGP Punjab, Ombudsperson; Ace And Courts.
He Conducts All Official Correspondence On Behalf Of Capital City Police Officer, Lahore Except For Those Related To Administration. The Supervision Of Inspection Cell And Citizens Feedback Cell Are His Important Functions. He Is Also The Focal Person Of Lahore Police For Media, And Drug Free City Project, Lahore.
Legal Affairs Division
The Division Prepares Comments On Representations, Appeals, Writ Petitions, Legal Matters And Submits Reports Before The Superior Judiciary The Supreme Court And The High Court, And Is Also Responsible For Filing Of Appeals And Review Petitions Against Judicial Orders And Judgements. It Also Prepares And Submits Comments And Reports To The Supreme Court Of Pakistan In Human Right Cases, Based On The Information Received From Operations And Investigation Wings.
The Division Also Files, With The Approval of The CCPO, Lahore Appeals Challenging Pst Decisions Before The Superior Judiciary.
The Division Also Receives And Implements Directions From The Courts Of Sessions And The Lower Judiciary Ensuring Appearance Of Investigators And Production Of Evidentiary Material And Record Before These Forums. It Also Deals With Directions Regarding The Registration Of Cases And Change Of Investigation. Apart From Litigation And Petitions Directed Against The Police Department, There Are Also Cases Where Civil Suits Have Been Filed Against It. The Division Also Responds In Those Civil Suits On Behalf Of The CCPO. The Division Also Ensure The Implementation Of Order Passed By Asj/Ex-Officio Justice Of Peace On Petitions U/S 22-A&B. The Division Also Deals With Departmental Appeals Filed By The Police Officers/Officials Of Capital City Police, Lahore Before The IGP, Punjab Against The Order Of CCPO Related To The Grant Of Promotions And Award Of Punishments.
Operations Wing
Deputy Inspector General Operations, Lahore Manages The Operational Matters Of Lahore Police Under The Command Of Capital City Police Officer Lahore. The Prevention Of Crime Is The Area Which Gets Most Of The Time Of Dig/Operations. There Are 84 Police Stations, 35 Circles And 06 Divisions In Lahore Police. A Division Is Headed By The SP, A Circle By DSP And The Police Station By An Inspector/Sub Inspectors. SSP/Operations Lahore Assists The Dig/Operations, And Exercises Powers In Matters Delegated To Him By Dig/Operations.
Investigation Wing
Deputy Inspector General Investigation, Lahore Manages The Affairs Regarding The Investigation Wing Of The Lahore Police Assisted By One SSP/Investigation. The Wing Deals With Detection, Investigation, Cases Preparation And Follow Up In The Courts of All The Crime of The City. Investigation In A Division Is Headed By SP/Investigation, Circles By A DSP/ASP And Police Station By In-Charge Investigation.
Security Division
Security Division, Lahore Was Established In 2008 Within Capital City Police, Lahore. It Is Headed By An Officer Of The Rank Of DIG Under The Overall Supervision Of CCPO, Lahore. DIG Security Is Assisted By Three SP’s And Allied Staff. Security Division Is Responsible for The Security Of Prime Minister Of Pakistan, Chief Minister’s Offices, Secretariat And Residences At Lahore. Security Division Also Looks After The Security Of GOR-I And Other Designated Establishments.
City Traffic Police, Lahore
In Lahore, City Traffic Police Was Launched In The Month Of April 2007 With An Aim To Introduce A New Traffic System Along With Redressal Of Grievances Of General Public Regarding Corruption. It Consists Of 01-Cto, 02sps (City & Saddar), Sp/Hqs And 14-Dsps/Traffic Officers Along With Essential Manpower. This Unit Is Responsible For Smooth Flow Of Traffic, Issuance Of Driving Licenses, Awareness Of Citizens Regarding Traffic Laws.
General Awareness Amongst Masses Regarding Traffic Rules Is Very Poor And Syllabus Of Traffic Education Is Also Not Included Into The School Curriculum. Being An Industrial City And Commercial Hub, There Is Massive Load Of Heavy Traffic In Lahore. Lahore Is The Provincial Capital And There Is Significant Movement Of Vvips/Vips, Foreign Dignitaries And Processions/Rallies, Which Is Further Complicated By The Current Security Situation.
The Performance Of Traffic Police During Construction Of First Ever Mass Transit Metro Bus System In Lahore Was Appreciated By Commuters. City Traffic Police, Lahore Is Known For Its Uprightness And Its Corruption Free Image. The City Traffic Police, Lahore Conducts Its Operations By Deploying Manpower Using Information Technology, Coordinating With Various Departments And An Effective Management Of Resources. The City Traffic Police Being An Integral Part Of Lahore Police Will Continue To Fulfill The Public Requirements Of Smooth Traffic In Coming Years.
